5 Water Infusion Recipes If You Hate Drinking Water

Drinking enough water is a big part of losing weight. Your body is made of mostly water so if you don’t drink enough, not only does your body lose the ability to perform everyday functions, but it retains any water it does get in case it doesn’t get any more. Needless to say, it’s important. But what about those people who don’t love drinking water? Some people honestly just don’t like it! But what if there were some ways to make your water taste better?

We’ve come up with some amazing combinations of different ingredients you can pop into your water bottle to let it infuse and taste SO good.

Lemon Lavender Water

Lemon is probably the most popular fruit to put in your water, but what about mixing it up and also adding in a sprig of lavender? The lavender gives the water a unique sweetness, making this a really healthy version of lemonade! In a 1L jar, slice up a lemon and, if you want, add an extra cup of fresh lemon juice. Use agave nectar if you want some sweetness, but only around 1/4 – 1/2 of a cup. Add 3 tbsp of dried lavender and mix it up. Let it steep and get cold in the fridge, and you’ll have a healthy lemonade to get you through the day!

Watermelon Basil Water

Watermelon is seriously the most refreshing fruit out there, and it’s delicious! So it only makes sense that it would make a killer water infusion. Grab a jug, throw some water and ice cubes, cut watermelon into cubes or slices (up to you!) and rip up a handful of basil leaves and throw them in too. Let it sit so that the flavor from the basil gets absorbed into the water. This recipe may seem strange but we promise it is absolutely delicious.

Blackberry Mint Water

If you’re doing this infusion, you should let it sit overnight so the mint has time to infuse the water. This recipe isn’t overly sweet and is actually slightly tart! Blackberries add a nice color to the water and are full of antioxidants which are great for the body! Mash a handful or so of the blackberries and put the muddled berries in the water. Add fresh blackberries as well. Grab a handful of mint and rub it between your hands so you unleash the oil in the herb, put them into the water as well.

Mojito Water

Mojito water is a great way to get that delicious flavor without the alcohol, sugar or calories! The recipe for this is pretty simple, use as much lime and as much mint as you want. Squeeze juice from a fresh lime into the water, add sliced lime for garnish. Rub the mint between your hands to unleash that flavor and then put the mint leaves into your water as well.

Strawberry Jalapeno Water

If you have a love of spice, this water is absolutely for you! The sweetness of the strawberries ensures the water is still nice and sweet, but the jalapeno’s definitely add a kick to it! It’s actually really good if you’re starting to feel like your sinuses are getting a bit clogged, the spice will clear things right up! Add as many sliced strawberries to the water as you’d like, and slice up a jalapeno (keep the seeds if you want extra spice), add as much as you can handle. Let it steep, keep in the fridge, and enjoy!
