We probably can all agree that Starbucks is the coolest place of all when it comes to beautiful and satisfying caffeinated drinks. With more than 20,000 stores in more than 65 countries, you can always find a Starbucks somewhere nearby to grab your favorite caffeinated drink, whether it’s a Frappuccino, a latte, a smoothie, or a Teavana. There’s no doubt that the coffee giant brings high-end coffee to the masses all over the world, and it’s sometimes a cut above what you’d find in your local neighborhood café. However, Starbucks is so big that it’s inevitable they will suffer from the occasional controversy or scandal. While some of these controversies arise from health-related issues of their products, most of them revolve around things Starbucks wouldn’t want you to know about their delicious drinks!
The Pumpkin Spice Latte Has Deadly Chemicals
If there’s just one drink that has made Starbucks more popular, it has to be the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL). Ask any Starbucks lover and he/she would instantly tell you that PSL is probably their all-time favorite. To put it into context, PSL is so popular that it has its own Twitter account with over 105,000 followers. Since its introduction in 2003, PSL has become the most selling Starbucks’ drink with over 200 million sold. Unfortunately, this incredibly fatty drink is shockingly unhealthy. It contains too many harmful and unnatural ingredients including Caramel Color Level IV, which is well-known to have the deadly carcinogens that can cause cancer. In short, the highly popular “pumpkin sauce” is something else far from the actual pumpkin and Starbucks doesn’t want you to know.
