1. Microwave Popcorn

Microwave popcorn may be delicious and easy to make, but they’re terribly harmful to your health. Well, popcorn might have a hypnotizing smell that fills the office or the house, but that delicious scent comes from a chemical known as diacetyl—a harmful synthetic butter flavoring. According to research conducted by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, inhaling this butter flavoring can cause lung disease because it produces toxic chemicals when heated at high temperatures. If you want popcorn, cut out the cheap, salty, and toxic microwave bags and make your own popcorn on the stove.

    However, you made a mistake on #4: You wrote, “Vegetable oil contains unsaturated fats and Omega 3 fatty acids, which are linked to heart attacks” You must have meant to write Omega 6, not omega 3. By the way, it’s not just having omega 6, but rather having too much of it. Some omega 6 is necessary for normal physiological function, but we typically get way too much of it and not enough of the Omega 3’s.

    I’d also add to this list with
    -diet sodas
    -gluten free junk foods and other “health halo” foods
    -microwavable ramen noodle packs
