9. Factory-Farmed Meat

Factory-farmed meat is dangerous for your health in the sense that these animals are often fed on chemical additives, including growth hormones, genetically modified corn feed, and extreme doses of antibiotics. The factory-farmed meat supply chain is difficult to track and poorly regulated. It suffers from outbreaks of mad cow disease and listeria, dirty equipment, and frightened and sick animals. It doesn’t even taste good compared to organic or traditional meat! Skip the cheap meat and rest easy.

  1. Good info here, Mark!!
    However, you made a mistake on #4: You wrote, “Vegetable oil contains unsaturated fats and Omega 3 fatty acids, which are linked to heart attacks” You must have meant to write Omega 6, not omega 3. By the way, it’s not just having omega 6, but rather having too much of it. Some omega 6 is necessary for normal physiological function, but we typically get way too much of it and not enough of the Omega 3’s.

    I’d also add to this list with
    -diet sodas
    -gluten free junk foods and other “health halo” foods
    -microwavable ramen noodle packs
