Pancakes have always seemed like a great breakfast idea. However, did you know that it’s made from a mixture of unrefined flour, butter, and syrup? Well, this is like consuming inflammatory hydrogenated oil, high-fructose corn syrup, and unrefined starch all in one take! Let’s just say there are other healthier options than pancakes, no matter how good they are.

  1. Good info here, Mark!!
    However, you made a mistake on #4: You wrote, “Vegetable oil contains unsaturated fats and Omega 3 fatty acids, which are linked to heart attacks” You must have meant to write Omega 6, not omega 3. By the way, it’s not just having omega 6, but rather having too much of it. Some omega 6 is necessary for normal physiological function, but we typically get way too much of it and not enough of the Omega 3’s.

    I’d also add to this list with
    -diet sodas
    -gluten free junk foods and other “health halo” foods
    -microwavable ramen noodle packs
