6. High Fructose Corn Syrup Used in Coke has Traces of the Deadly Mercury
One of the main ingredients found in coke and other soft drinks is High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is a well-known product of corn. To put it into perspective, most of the corn used is genetically modified and have been found to contain traces of harmful mercury by none other than the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. Just to drive the point home, exposure to mercury is harmful to almost every important organ in the body including; kidneys, heart, lungs, the brain, and the immune system.
