2. Phosphoric Acid in Coke Chews Up All Your Bones
In its purest form, phosphoric acid is colorless and odorless. However, it’s a corrosive acid with toxic fumes that’s added to coke drinks to provide a sharper and tangy taste, as well as help in slowing the growth of molds and bacteria in the soft drinks’ sugary formulas. Unfortunately, its acidic powers can cause adverse dermatitis, difficulty in breathing and swallowing, blurred vision, tearing, pain and many other problems when either inhaled or come to contact with the body. Studies have linked Coke with the erosion of tooth enamel and chronic kidney disease largely due to the presence of phosphoric acid in it.
