4. Dead Bug
This is another exercise that would allow you to strengthen all the muscles in your core. Performing dead bug regularly will help you in toning your obliques, one of the most problematic areas of people over 40.
How to perform the exercise?
Lie down keeping your back flat on the ground. Raise your legs in a way so that they form an angle of 90 degrees with the floor. Your arms, on the other hand, should be stretched upwards (act as if you are trying to reach the ceiling).
Keep your abs firm and lower the right foot slowly. While doing so, you must maintain a bend in the right knee. Move the right leg back to its starting position. Repeat the same action with the left leg. You should keep breathing normally when performing dead bug. Initially, perform five repetitions on either side; then, slowly progress to ten repetitions.
