25 Best Exercises For People Over 40

21. Thoracic Rotations

This exercise will increase the strength of your lower back by improving your posture. Thoracic rotation is also often performed as a stretching exercise.

How do you perform this exercise?

Begin by placing your body in the traditional quadruped position. Place your hands beneath the shoulder, knees should be under your hips and elbows must be locked. Your chest, on the other hand, must be kept slightly up. Place any one of your hands behind your head; now, keeping your eyes on the elbows, rotate them through your ribcage. You shouldn’t move your lower back when rotating. Also, make sure that you don’t shift your ribcage when rotating your elbows.
